Resignation from the Republican Party

Ever since I rooted for Tom Dewey to beat Harry Truman in 1948 – 68 years – I have considered myself a Republican. No more. As of now, I am a conservative Independent. I will not be associated with a party which would nominate a man such as Donald J. Trump as its presidential candidate.

The GOP has just committed suicide. May its death be as swift and painless as possible.
