Introduction to the Claremont Trio

Here's a 5-minute introduction to my favorite chamber music ensemble, the lovely and talented Claremont Trio. Its members are Donna Kwong, piano, Emily Bruskin, violin, and her twin sister Julia Bruskin, cello.

The selection, a high-quality MP3, is Beethoven's lyrical Allegretto in B-flat Major, WoO. 39 as performed live at Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. You can judge the audience response at the end for yourself.

It doesn't come any better than this.

You can find several more downloadable MP3s by these superb musicians here, in the Gardner Museum archives. In addition, they have three CDs available here, at their website. I recommend them highly – and no, I don't benefit in any way if you buy them.

For a fascinating account of the life of a chamber music trio on the road, check out the group's blog, Claremont on Tour.
