This incident is rather trivial but it unfortunately is all too symptomatic of the reporting of the mainstream media.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is a major spring event in Washington, DC and there is always concern whether the blossoms will be open for the festival.
A week or two ago, reports, primarily on the radio, were that because of global warming, the blossoms would be early this year and gone by the time of the festival.
The blossoms reached their peak today, Friday, March 28, and will be beautiful for several more days. The festival starts tomorrow.
Petty nonsense, but no correction to the original report about global warming ruining the festival
